BIO

Mili  is  a  singer  and  a  vocal  teacher,  with  a  jazz  degree  from  University  of  Evora, Portugal and a masters in jazz from Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. She has also  studied  History  of  Art  in  Salamanca,  Spain.  She  has  been  teaching  from  10 years  in  Spain  and  Portugal,  and  recently  in  India  (Swarnabhoomi  Academy  of Music, Chennai). She has won awards like INJUVE 2005 (Spain and Latin America), first prize to best interpreter and best album, Sonora Awards 2013,  first prize of pop (Casa  de  Badajoz,  Spain).  As  a  composer,  her  tune  “Human  rights,  your  best instrument” was selected in Goya Awards (Spanish Oscars). She has participated in several albums like the EP “Na Janela” (Mili Vizcaino Quintet), the LP “For once in my life” (Iberian Big Band), the LP “Tierra seca y caramelo” (D’Alambre, with her own compositions).  She  has  worked  with  backing  vocals  for  the  world  tour  “Papitour” (Miguel  Bosé),  during  two  years  and  a  half.  She  has  also  participated  in  a  lot  of festivals like Womad (Cáceres, Spain), Grammy Latinos (Las Vegas, USA), Viña del Mar (Chile), etc.

Cláudio is a guitarist, singer and composer with a jazz degree from University of Lisbon (ESML), Portugal.

As a student, he attended several international jazz festivals such as IASJ, Atina Jazz, Lisbon Jazz Summer School. He has played in Denmark, Italy, Spain and Portugal with some of his music projects in festivals like "Festival nazionale ed europeo dei Conservatori di musica", Milwawkee Jazz fest, Evora Jazz Fest, among others. His compositions are mostly influenced by jazz and classical music. Cláudio also loves and practices other arts such as photography and videography.

CLÁUDIO ALVES (b. 1992, Portugal) 

Yannick is an Electric Bass Player based in Lisbon, Portugal. Playing Acoustic Guitar and  Bass  in  his  youth,  he  joined  ‘Codarts  World  Music  Acadamy’  in  Rotterdam, Netherlands in 2011 where he enrolled in the Latin Jazz Program on both Guitar and Bass. After moving to Portugal he concentrated fully on Electric Bass, finishing his Jazz Bass Bachelor at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. Throughout his Life he has made a plurality of music-orientated trips to learn different genres of folk music in countries such as Mali, Tanzania, Mozambique, Turkey, Brazil, South Africa, Cape Verde, India, Maroc and many others. He has also performed in different projects in many countries. His musical identity is clearly dominated by his interest in all kinds of musical syles from all over the Globe. Currently he is mainly performing in Afro, Latin or  Jazz-Fusion  projects  on  one  hand  and  Oriental  and  Soul/Hip  Hop/Reggae Projects on the other hand. His playing and musical understanding is influenced by artists like Richard Bona, Avishai Cohen, Dhafer Youssef, Snarky Puppy, Hamilton de Holanda, Munir Hossn, Robert Glasper, Oumou Sangare.

YANNICK NOLTING (b. 1988, Germany)

MILI VIZCAÍNO (b. 1979, Spain)

Claudio  is  a  Pianist,  keyboardist,  composer  and  arranger.  He  has  played  and recorded  in  several musical  projects,  film  soundtracks,  CDs  and  DVDs,  with  great Brazilian  and  international  musicians. He  began  his  piano  studies  at  the age of 7, starting to perform at 13. He completed the functional harmony course at Musiarte (RJ) and joined the course of composition and regency of Uni-Rio (Brazil). He joined Gilberto  Gil's  band  in  1998  and  Seu  Jorge's  in  2007,  participating  in  different Grammy  winning projects.  He  performed  in  the  main  international  stages  and theaters, namely Nokia Theater Times Square (New York), Olympia (Paris), Opera House (Sydney), Tokyo International Forum Hall, as well as major international jazz festivals.  Co-founder  of  the  group  'Mambo  que  Sambo'  with  his  father  Walmir Andrade.  With  3  albums  recorded  by  Brazilian  and  Latin  American  musicians,  the group pioneered the revitalization of cultural life in the neighborhood of Lapa (Rio de Janeiro) in the early 1990s. He is recording his first album, with his compositions and very special guests in the panorama of Brazilian music.

CLAUDIO ANDRADE (b. 1978, Brasil)

Sebastian is a professional  musician  in  the  area  of percussion,  teacher  of  musical  education, rhythm, percussion  and  drums.  Graduated  in  Music  -  Jazz  variant  -  by  the  Escola Superior  de  Música  de  Lisboa  in  2012,  and  with  a  Master's  Degree  in  Music Education by Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH) in 2014, currently studying for a PhD in Teaching and Psychology of Music at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He has extensive experience as a teacher in public schools and specialized music schools, as well as Olga Roriz Dance Co. Integrates and produces different projects of quality and varied styles. He has worked and participated as sideman in the discography of nationally and internationally renowned artists, with more than 35 recorded albums, namely: Orquestra  Todos  (World  Music),  Aduf  (World  Music),  Janita  Salomé (Portuguese  Music),  Ciganos  de  Ouro  (Rumba  Flamenca),  Philip  Hamilton  (Cool Jazz  &  World  Music),  In  Loko  (Jazz),  Havana  Way  (Salsa),  Liliana  del  Conde (música sul americana), Bonga (African Music), Adriana Miki (Brasilian Jazz), Uxukalhos (World Music).
